Year Two Homework
Each week for homework we would like the children to complete the following:
Read as regularly as possible with an adult and have this signed in their reading record. Each week, the children will come home with a 'Read Write Inc' book bag book, their library book and QR code bookmark (this can be scanned by your phone or table camera and will take you to a recommended audio book).
Log onto Numbots https://play.numbots.com/#/account/school-login/26029 and practise number games.
Practise your spellings which can be found below.
Common Exception Words
We are learning our common exception words. These are a group of words that appear commonly in both texts and spoken language, but can’t be decoded using normal phonics rules. This could be because they don’t follow normal spelling rules or contain unusual letter combinations. Please can you practise these words with your child at home. Please note you don't have to print this homework out. Below are some ideas you could use to help your child practise their spellings.
Here are some fun ideas to try out:
Writing in the sandpit
Air write
Make up a song, rhyme to help learn the spelling
Say letters as you kick a ball back and forth
Write on scrap pieces of paper
Use sticks to spell out letters
