A hands on, practical lesson where the children are finding 10 or 100 less than a given number where there are no hundreds or tens in the number. The children were encouraged to use their mathematical vocabulary to explain their learning and explain how they were using manipulatives to visually demonstrate exchanging in order to answer the question.
