Reception Starters 2023/2024
We would like to wish you all a very warm welcome to Callington Primary School. The time has come for staff to get know the new families joining our school community and for those families to get to know our school. This page will act as a hub to hold all the information that you need as you prepare for September and your children starting school. Many of you will already have children in our school nursery and so will be familiar with some of the information about the school but for some of you this will be the beginning of your journey at Callington Primary School. We hope that, whichever the case, you will find this page informative and helpful.
Despite the unpredictable year we have all had, please rest assured that we have a robust transition process in place which we trialled last academic year.
This year we will aim to offer a blended transition, providing restrictions allow for this. This means that we hope to offer some in-person sessions whilst keeping other activities and sessions online.
We will be providing information videos and packs for parents which will have lots of important information about starting school and what to expect. These will be shared during the final half term and are available on this page.
We will also provide videos and resources to aid your child's transition into school and support their understanding of the changes which will take place in their lives as they begin their school career,
For the moment, our biggest message to you all is for your child/ren to enjoy their final term of Nursery, childcare and time with yourselves.
