Spellings
Children's weekly spellings homework will be set as an 'assignment' on Spelling Shed. Spelling Shed can be accessed on any device which connects to the internet. Their log-ins for Spelling Shed are in the back of their reading journals. They will be tested on these each Friday.
Reading
Each week, the children should read regularly. Each child has a banded reading book and a reading journal. Once they have finished a banded book, they must record a response to it in their reading journal before they can change it for a new one. There is a list of activities on the inside cover of their reading journals to give them some ideas but it is not exhaustive. We request that children bring their banded book and reading journey into school daily.
Times tables
The children should also continue to practise their times tables regularly. It would be great if they could use Times Table Rock Stars to do this but we are happy for them to explore other games/strategies to help embed these.
