Youth Speaks Semi - Final
The semi – final of the Youth Speaks competition was held last night 12/02/15 at Callington Community College. Year 6 pupils - Siân, Jem and Joanna - were sixth up out of thirteen teams. Despite being nervous about speaking to a large audience, they confidently presented their topic ‘Are we losing the art of conversation?’. They were animated, engaging and expressed their points eloquently. The judges agreed and nominated them as one of the top three teams in the district and they will now go through to the finals in Plymouth after half term. After the competition, the judges commented on their brilliant team work, the clarity of their speeches and the group’s interactions with the audience which made a captivating speech. Well done Siân, Jem and Joanna and good luck for the final!
