Enrichment

History Club:

Mrs Briars-Delve ran a History Club for KS2 recently. In the club, the children used their history skills to find out more about the history of the local area and the school in particular. They came up with probing interview questions for visiting speakers, closely studied photographs from Callington's past and also toured the school grounds looking at architectural features and thinking about what they mean for our school's history.

History Visitors and Trips:

In the past few years, children across CPS have visited a range of historical venues to enrich their historical learning: Bodmin Jail, the Royal Cornwall Museum and Morwellham Quay for example. Alongside this, the school has hosted a range of visitors linking to the children's history topics and, for Armistice Day 2020, children across KS2 are took part in a virtual webinar experience hosted by a historical expert on Britain's involvement in WWI and WWII.
