At Callington Primary School, our Maths Calculation policy shows clear progression across year groups and clearly demonstrates how the consistent use of the CPA (concrete, pictorial, abstract) approach helps children develop mastery in both written and mental methods across the four operations in an efficient and reliable way. In addition to this, we use the White Rose Calculation policies as a reference/ handbook for current and new members of staff to mainly support with utilising manipulatives to enhance teaching and learning.
