Today you're going to put into practise the techniques that you learnt last lesson to create a scientific-style drawing of a plant or flower. Go to a garden, field, grassy verge or just choose a plant you already have in your house to draw. Look at the images below for examples (click on them to enlarge them) and think carefully about how you can use the pencil drawing and shading techniques that you learnt last week to create texture and depth in your drawing.
If you want to get some really detailed bits into your drawing, try making a 'viewfinder' and selecting part of the plant to hold it over. Concentrating on a small part of the plant will help you to ensure that you're really seeing the detail and texture.
