Stay Active

An important part of your child(ren)'s daily school routine is The Daily Mile. The physical and mental health benefits of this daily activity have a positive impact on your child's day. In response to the latest lockdown, The Daily Mile UK have launched the Daily Mile at Home #DailyMileAtHome - join in with your child and please let us know how you get along!

Visit the website here for more information and ideas and take a look at the first of the #DailyMileAtHome Weekly Challenges below:

We have created this page to give you some ideas of ways to stay active whilst you are at home. All of these activities can be done either inside or in a garden space if you have one. In school, we have an hours P.E session twice a week. We would encourage you to do at least one of these activities once a day as it's really important (and good for you) to stay active and healthy. Keep checking back as we add new content. If you have any ideas for the page, please contact your teacher by email.

Cornwall Virtual School Games

We would like to share some exciting information about a sporting opportunity called ‘The Cornwall Virtual School Games’ that every child at CPS is invited to take part in.

The Cornwall Virtual School Games is a series of six events taking place from the 22nd-26th June. Pupils will need to record their performances (more information about how pupils can record and submit their results in important information below). All children can start to practice the challenges from today and look out for more challenges released through this week.

All activities are suitable for completing at home, in school, in the garden or safely in a local park space.

iMoves Dance Challenge

This June, iMoves are launching a brand-new DANCE CHALLENGE and would LOVE for you all to get involved!

A message from iMoves:

We know things have been tough recently so our aim throughout this challenge is to bring families together, create happy memories and have plenty of fun along the way.

Children big and small are invited to take part and create their very own dance video where anything goes!

The only rule is to have LOTS OF FUN!

This quick video explains all...

Here’s how it works:

  1. Each week children are given a theme
  2. They make their own dance routine - use our video and music for inspiration, create something totally wacky and unique, or just dance along with us!
  3. Create a video of the performance (no fancy camera’s needed – a phone is fine!)
  4. Parents to post the video onto the schools twitter page using our hashtags.
  5. Get sharing and liking – the video with the most likes each week WINS!

So, what do you win?

The purpose of this challenge is to have LOADS OF FUN… but we want to dish out some prizes too!

A challenge is not a challenge without a certificate – so EVERY CHILD who submits a video will get a downloadable certificate to put on their bedroom wall!

And because every child LOVES a trophy, the “Dance Superstar” who gets the most likes will receive a SHINY TROPHY to keep forever! Plus a FREE dance subscription for their school.

First up... it's the SAMBA CHALLENGE!

Week 2 is the HIP HOP CHALLENGE!
Week 3 is the DISCO CHALLENGE!
